Latuvi to Lachatao – More Information

The out & back hike on the trail from Latuvi to Lachatao mostly follows a mountain stream and so runs mainly downhill the first half of the hike – which means the return half will be an uphill grunt.  Hiking poles are recommended. This is considered one of the most beautiful trails in the Pueblos Mancomunados. However, as it is deep in a valley it does not offer the kinds of panoramic vistas available on some other trails (i.e. Cuajimoloyas to Benito Juárez or Benito Juárez to La Neveria). Mushroom hunters will find good pickings during the rainy season.

Time frame:  8:30 depart Llano Park / 10:30 arrive Latuvi / 10:45 begin hike / 12:45 sack lunch on trail / 1:15 resume hike /  3:15 end hike / 5:30 return to Oaxaca
