Schedule of “Out & About In Oaxaca” Events
In January of 2016 the Oaxaca Lending Library inaugurated a new program of weekly tours for the benefit of Library members and guests who wanted to explore some of the many interesting and unique places in and around the city of Oaxaca. The endeavor was given the name “Out & About In Oaxaca” and proved to be very popular.
The “Out & About In Oaxaca” program runs December through March. It offers tours to the homes and studios of many local artisans, visits to some archeological sites and to other places of special interest. Tours are offered every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday during the winter season. The tour cost is 600 pesos for Library members and 750 pesos for non-members. The time and location meet point can vary from trip to trip. Please refer to the OLL website – www.oaxlibrary.org – for a current list of Out and About tours.
Reservations are required and can be made in person at the circulation desk at the library (located at Pino Suarez 519) or online at https://www.oaxlibrary.org/events. Note that reservations can be made no more than 30 days prior to the date of the outing. Also, the library does not make refunds. If something happens that you cannot go on a tour, you may sell or give your reservation to someone else, who should then reference your name when checking in to board the van the morning of the trip.
